Bak gerookte spekjes in een pan een beetje uit. Voeg uitgelekte (wijn)zuurkool toe en trek die goed los. Roerbak de zuurkool enkele minuten mee. Voeg een flinke hand karwijzaad (kummel), en een fikse scheut droge witte wijn toe. Laat het geheel even sudderen. Open een groot blik witte bonen, laat de bonen uitlekken en doe ze in de pan. Goed doorwarmen maar. En dan heeft men een zeer bijzondere smaakcombinatie: het zoute van de spekjes, het zure van de zuurkool en het zoete van de bonen. Lekker met een worst of zo.

Bake some chopped pieces of pork (speck!) in a large pot/pan. Add sauerkraut, ‘karwijzaad’ and a glass of dry white wine. Make sure the sauerkraut is loosened. Open a large tin can of white beans (NOT in tomato sauce) and delete the water. Put the beans in the pot/pan and heaten up. Now you’ve got a real sensation of different flavours: the salty pork, the sauer kraut and the sweet beans. Serve this dish with sausage or something else you think that will fit with it.

Jon Anderson deed een speciale show in 013, Tilburg op zaterdagavond 24 maart 2007. Nog eenmaal zou hij zijn Nederlandse publiek vertellen over zijn songs. Een ware workshop, dus. Welnu, hij stond er met zijn akoestische gitaar en zijn piano. Dat waren zijn enige hulpmiddelen. Het repertoire bestond voornamelijk uit Yes-songs en een enkel solo-liedje. Gedurende het programma stelde het kleine publiek vragen, die meneer Anderson geduldig beantwoordde. Ook vroegen enkele jonge muzikanten in de zaal of ze een stuk voor Anderson mochten spelen. And You And I en Heart Of The Sunrise waren mooie intermezzo’s. Na afloop deelde mijn held handtekeningen uit. Ik kon zelfs met hem op de foto … stom dat ik mijn toestel had ingesteld op ‘flitsen’; nu lijkt het alsof Anderson al dood is, maar het zelf is vergeten ….

Jon Anderson did a special show in 013 Hall in Tilburg. It was Saturday Night, March 24, 2007. Just for this once he’d tell his Olandese audience about his songs. It’d be a workshop, as he announced. He was there with just his acoustic guitar and his piano. His repertoire was only Yes-tunes and some solo songs. During the show, he gave the audience the opportunity to ask questions, which he answerered patiently. There were even two young members in the audience that asked if they could play some music for mr. Anderson! ‘And You And I’ and ‘Heart Of The Sunrise’ became nice intermezzo’s in that way. After the show, Mr. Anderson signed whatever we wanted. My wife shot a picture of him with me, but sadly I had installed my camera with flash, which resulted in an awful picture, on which Jon looks like he’s dead already, but forgot himself …
