Een mooie septemberdag. En een festivalletje bij Ian’s Pub in Apeldoorn. Captain Scally Wag bracht leuke pret-Pogues muziek. Binnenkort live in Finnigan’s (13 oktober) en het Bluescafé (ergens in november). Gaan, hoor! O, en lang leve Murphy’s Red!

A beautiful September day. And also a little Irish festival at Ian’s Pub in Apeldoorn. Captain Scally Wag plays nice fun-Pogues kinda music. Soon live in Finnigan’s (October 13) and the Bluescafé (in November). Do go and see them! Oh, and praise Murphy’s Red!

Op vrijdagavond 25 mei vond het Jazz In The Woods festival plaats. Jazz- en popmuziek door het hele centrum van Apeldoorn. Overal waar we kwamen was het net pauze – dat zul je altijd zien – maar er was toch veel te genieten… Let op het Hammond orgel van De Beter R. De Vries Band!

The Jazz In The Woods festival was this year on Friday evening May 25. One could enjoy all kinds of jazz and pop music in the town centre of Apeldoorn. But as always, at every stage we walked by, there was intermission. Still, we enjoyed some nice music. Please notice the Hammond organ of the Beter R. De Vries Band!

Jon Anderson deed een speciale show in 013, Tilburg op zaterdagavond 24 maart 2007. Nog eenmaal zou hij zijn Nederlandse publiek vertellen over zijn songs. Een ware workshop, dus. Welnu, hij stond er met zijn akoestische gitaar en zijn piano. Dat waren zijn enige hulpmiddelen. Het repertoire bestond voornamelijk uit Yes-songs en een enkel solo-liedje. Gedurende het programma stelde het kleine publiek vragen, die meneer Anderson geduldig beantwoordde. Ook vroegen enkele jonge muzikanten in de zaal of ze een stuk voor Anderson mochten spelen. And You And I en Heart Of The Sunrise waren mooie intermezzo’s. Na afloop deelde mijn held handtekeningen uit. Ik kon zelfs met hem op de foto … stom dat ik mijn toestel had ingesteld op ‘flitsen’; nu lijkt het alsof Anderson al dood is, maar het zelf is vergeten ….

Jon Anderson did a special show in 013 Hall in Tilburg. It was Saturday Night, March 24, 2007. Just for this once he’d tell his Olandese audience about his songs. It’d be a workshop, as he announced. He was there with just his acoustic guitar and his piano. His repertoire was only Yes-tunes and some solo songs. During the show, he gave the audience the opportunity to ask questions, which he answerered patiently. There were even two young members in the audience that asked if they could play some music for mr. Anderson! ‘And You And I’ and ‘Heart Of The Sunrise’ became nice intermezzo’s in that way. After the show, Mr. Anderson signed whatever we wanted. My wife shot a picture of him with me, but sadly I had installed my camera with flash, which resulted in an awful picture, on which Jon looks like he’s dead already, but forgot himself …
